The growing population is straining our resources

Our region is growing. It’s estimated that by 2050, the Louisville area will see a 24.92% increase in population.

While this is wonderful for our economy, this also means an increase in traffic and harmful vehicle emissions. It’s important to start changing commuting habits now to prepare for a brighter future. By getting involved with our program, you can help reduce congestion and improve air quality now and in the future.

ECC Animation Ridesharing

Rideshare isn’t just ordering an Uber or Lyft. Any form of transportation besides a single-occupancy motor vehicle is considered rideshare.

Most people know rideshare as two or more people riding to work or any other event together. But rideshare is bigger than that. It includes:

  • Group transportation such as carpooling and vanpooling
  • Nonmotorized forms of transportation such as bicycles
  • Working from home some or all days, also known as “Telework”
24.92% projected population growth means more traffic on already-crowded roads
30%+ growth is predicted in five counties: Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Bullitt in KY, and Floyd in IN
5000+ number of jobs predicted to be added by 2050 in Jefferson and Bullitt Counties in KY, and Clark County in IN

Rideshare is easier and more flexible than you might think.
