Updated March 14, 2023

On March 6th, 2020, Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky and Governor Eric Holcomb of Indiana each declared a State of Emergency due to COVID-19. After the Declarations were announced, KIPDA began implementing plans and procedures to maintain services and protect the communities we serve in Clark & Floyd counties in Indiana, and in Jefferson, Bullitt, Oldham, Henry, Trimble, Spencer, and Shelby counties in Kentucky.

KIPDA continues to follow the guidance of our states’ and nation’s top health leaders, and are taking measures to ensure we continue to support our rideshare participants. Information is provided below, by transportation type, in light of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. For additional COVID-19 information, including best practices, please see the CDC’s recommended guidelines. TSA ended the face mask requirement for all transportation networks, including public transportation, after May 3, 2022.

KIPDA understands that some persons may temporarily opt out of ridesharing at this time and we fully support those individuals.  However, some employees are still required to report to their physical work location due to the nature of their job. The KIPDA Every Commute Counts Program will continue to provide services and support to those individuals and our communities.

Ridesharing and Ridematching

We will continue to provide ridematching services for ridesharing through this website, via email request at info@everycommutecounts.org or telephone 502.267.5400, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. excluding holidays.

We understand some people fill essential roles and need a reliable way to get to work, which may happen to be rideshare. We also offer the ability to log your commute no matter how you are getting to work these days: telework, shortened or compressed work week, bicycling, transit, walking, carpooling, or vanpooling. All of these are considered to be forms of ridesharing. We also want to emphasize the importance of social distancing, hand washing, and other related protocol in order to continue to protect yourself and others.
