Rideshare isn’t just ordering an Uber or Lyft. Any form of transportation besides a single-occupancy motor vehicle is considered rideshare.

Most people know rideshare as two or more people riding to work or any other event together. But rideshare is bigger than that. It includes:

  • Group transportation such as carpooling and vanpooling
  • Nonmotorized forms of transportation such as bicycles
  • Working from home some or all days, also known as “Telework”

Growing population is straining our resources

Our region is growing. It’s estimated that by 2040, the Louisville area will see a 26% increase in population.

While this is wonderful for our economy, this also means an increase in traffic and harmful vehicle emissions. It’s important to start changing commuting habits now to prepare for a brighter future. By getting involved with our program, you can help to reduce congestion and improve air quality now and in the future.

26% projected population growth means more traffic on already-crowded roads
50%+ growth is predicted in four counties: Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Bullitt
100% of the areas with projected job growth of 10,000+ are in Jefferson County

Rideshare is easier and more flexible than you might think.
